Different UVs in same instances
-
I was doing a job and found a need to have different uvs in the same instance. Couldan't find a way to do it. Does anyone know if it's possible? If not, would this be complicated to be implemented in next releases?

Multiple UV sets is not possible in SU but it is in apps that have dedicated Unwrapping features.

Hi Rich,
I had forgotten about this post...Too busy these days...Anyway, thanks for the reply!

I was thinking to this lately... it could make a good "wish" for SU2014 - to have a option to have unique textures on instances. So, only geometry to be shared.

You cannot have different UV's in a component but you can UV the default material inside a component. This will make you able to paint components with any material and it will be correctly mapped on faces with the default material applied.
There are 2 ways of doing this. First basic one is by changing axis inside component.
Second one, will allow you to map any face:

It is possible to have different textures on the same UV of a component! And you can move, scale, rotate these textures independently on each component/instance.
Just use Octane render. TIG helped in the development of exporting plugin and here is my topic on Octane forum how to use instancing and Sketchup.
