I dont think you can continue to use V-Ray 1.6 and it kind of sounds like you are using it illegally and this is a big no-no on these forums.

Not sure you will get much help or support without being a paying customer.

I understand but I have the free version of Vray. When I render I got de Vray logo all over the image.
I simply use it to see where I'm supposed to put my sofa and which paint I will use on my walls.
If what I'm doing whit this free version is illegal then I'm sorry, I didn't know and the topic can be closed.

Not sure what the rules are with using the demo after it expires. I guess thats a question for Chaos Group.

106 MB file - purged to 24MB (you had a lot a 'stuff' in that file

I made 3 new IES lights and used a file from the web, set value to 40000 and a warm white color and it worked for me.

Thank you for your answer πŸ˜„
106 MB to 24 MB ?? OMG.. What kind of "stuff" can I delete ?
Is it possible for you to share your scene with the new IES lights?
If it doesn't work for me then you were right and the demo bug 😞
Thank you again for the time you have devoted to help me..

All I did was a purge all from the model info menu. Its probably just components and materials you were not using.

I already deleted the file. All I did was literally add 3 IES lights, nothing else. I think its a product of your demo. Try a new file and create one IES light to see if it works.

That doesn't work.. You were right, I have to purchase Vray 2.0.
Thank you for your answers πŸ˜„

There is a 2.0 demo available, so you can verify that the new version will work for you. We put those watermarks there for a reason, you can use it all you want, and we get free advertising πŸ˜‰

Once you learn the ropes and can get some professional quality renders going, then you might want to consider paying the fee to upgrade, because you'll easily be able to make that money back after your first visualization job.

                    I can vouch for this.

                      Great Idea πŸ˜„
Again, I'm not a pro. I just began to learn sketchup and vray for personal purpose πŸ˜‰

You say " you might want to consider paying the fee to upgrade"
Can I do the upgrade from the free 1.6 to the 2.0 ? Or I have to get the full 2.0 version ?

                      Thank you.

1.6 never went public, it was a beta version only. The upgrade path is from 1.49.01 to 2.0

I really don't know if this applies for Vray 2.0, but in Vray 1.49 you had to change the units from meters to centimeters in order for IES lights to work.

it's not an issue in 2.0, and I believe in 1.49.01 we always used inches for the scene units, because that's what SketchUp gave us by default.

I have the same problem IES spot lights donΒ΄t work in vray 2.0. I try to change the mesure units as i did in vray 1.49.01 and the result is nothing. any ideas to fix this?
