LumenRT Training Needed - Willing to pay.....
-
Hello All.
I purchased a full copy of LumenRT from e-on software with LiveCube earlier this year. I am in need of training so I can make use of my nearly $1800 purchase.
The area that I need help in is the lighting. I am able to make simple rendering and LiveCube to send to clients but I am unable to figure out the lighting portion.
I have not had any professional 3D training so maybe I am missing something simple.
I am willing to pay for training. I know your time and knowledge are of value.
I am also willing to travel in the USA if needed.
I am also open to a screen share with phone call or Google Hangout Video Party.
If anyone knows anybody that uses LumenRT, please pass my call for help along.
Look me up on Google+
Thank you.

Thank You Solo! How do I up load a model to you?

Thank You Solo.
How can I get a copy of my model to you.
Can I put it up on Google Drive and share it to you?
-
Yeah, sure Google drive, Dropbox, or even post in pm.

Thanks.
Saw that, I clicked on link and it needs me to get permissions to download.
Can you not direct link or Dropbox?

Got them, so how can I help?

Jay
Lets do the yard first.
Here is an image for those following of how the model looks.
For this exercise we are not going into modeling or texturing discussions. however I did remove most vegetation as I'd rather use the LumenRT supplied trees as they are way better and optimized.
In your email you wanted to know how to add lights, I saw you had string lights and a ton of them on the arbors, I deleted a bunch of them as there were just too many and inserted a point light inside see image. These are found on the LumenRT toolbar.
I also added 3 point lights in pool
Then I did a draft export to Lumion, set to night and done, some screen shots.
And here is the Live cube to play with

Dropbox link will be removed in 48 hours.

Using SU scale tool.

OK. So added a point light as you said but my point light is much much larger than the one you show. How do I change the size so I can see where I am placing it?

lol... that is the missing link in my head... treat the LumenRT components as any other component. Scale, Copy, etc...
-
When you export to live cube you press TAB and it will open up a menu on the left side where you can go into the lights menu and adjust the lights one by one, if you have a ton of lights it becomes a pain in the arse, there is no way to group adjust them.
-
Also notice how I reduced the amount of lights, less is best here, trust me.
-
OK. Cool.
Next question is about the glass bulb. Is there a way to make the glass bulb itself glow like it is frosted or translucent vs transparent? -
You can make the bulb a luminous material and not use the point lights, but then you do not have intensity control in live cube
-
OK. So here is a test of Luminous Materials vs Point Light in LumenRT.
Luminous Materials - Luminous 1000
Point Light - Incandescent - 2500 lumens
Point Light - Incandescent - 10,000 lumens
I have tried to place the point light inside of and also overlap the luminous material to get the luminous material to cast a shadow. No luck either way.
-
What if you put the point light inside the luminous material, so you get shadows and the frosted light bulb effect?

This is a great thread and very generous of Solo to help out. Amazing forum work.
