      Hi, I am creating a plan view of my project using the face style hidden line. I am getting a colored background in the view. I would like to have black lines + white background. I think it has to do with styles, but can't figure it out.

      Thanks for your help!

      Ron

        Two options. Go to Styles in SketchUp and edit the background color to make it white. Or in the SketchUp inspector in LO, go to the Styles tab and untick the Background box.

        If you choose the first option, make sure you update the style with the changes.

        I have my default style in SketchUp set to white all the time so I don't have to worry about it.

              In Sketchup 2016, turning the background white can be done 2 ways:

              1. In Sketchup: Default Tray \ Styles \ Shaded with Texture. NOTE: this is by Scene--you can have multiple scenes with multiple background colors.

              2. In Layout: Right Click on the inserted Sketchup view \ Styles \ Shaded with Textures

              Hidden Lines...you have to do that in Sketchup as far as I know. View \ Edge Style \ Back Edges

                Selecting Shaded with Texture in the Styles window doesn't not necessarily change the background to white. In SketchUp 2016, the process of setting the background to white is still the same as it has always been. The Background settings for the style must be edited and the style should be updated or a new style created.

                The same applies in LayOut. Simply selecting Shaded with Texture does not mean you'll have a white background. The styles you have access to in the Context menu in LayOut are the ones in the SketchUp model.

                Back Edges is enabled in SketchUp. If you have a style with Back Edges displayed included in the In Model library in SketchUp, you could select it in LayOut to apply to a viewport. Back Edges are only displayed in Raster and Hybrid render modes.

                  One quick question;
                  Where in Sketchup files is located green default background? (actually green and blue if sky is turned on) I want replace it with something different, with some blurry JPEG image which Sketchup not allow by default? Is that possible?

                    The colored background is a style setting, not a JPG that can be replaced. You might use your image as a watermark or you could draw a large surface in the background and add the image as a texture.
