Any thought to adding Render[in], IRender-nXt or Shaderlight to the list? This is such a great plugin! Thank you for all your work.
Same case as Thea, I have to contact the developers.

Any progress with regard to solving the problem with the interference with the saving of scenes?

Bug found : When a group is moved to be nested in another group, we can't rename it. We have to restart Layers Panel.
Working on a fix. -
Great plugin, I have integrated it immediately in my workflow. However I noticed following issues (bugs?):
-
In SU 8 it displayed the outdated IE version message and did not allow the scroll. Since ver. 0.5 it does not display this message but only shows render engines in the window and no layers or layer groups at all. In SU 2013 this problem does not exist.
-
Not sure whether since ver. 0.4 or 0.5 but in both SU 8 and SU 2013 Edit->Paste and Ctrl+V do not work when pasting a group/component from another SU file, Edit->Paste in place works though. Removing the plugin files from SU Plugins folder resolved the problem in both SU 8 and SU 2013. Also renaming layers in the native SU Layers window sometimes caused bugsplat with the plugin installed in SU 2013.
Hope that helps.
Thank you for your great plugin, it is so useful.

What's your IE version ?

Weird. Does it work when Layers Panel is installed but closed ?

Hi,
I was installed your plugin and it is nice how its work in new file, but with
my actual project I can't see layer list with your plugin.Secont, will be fine that you can put a possibility to show/hide panel like old layer window, click on the top of window.
Here is screen capture:

All the time ? With all kind of objects ? Even when LP is closed ?
I really don't see what could cause that... And I can't reproduce it.

You're not the first to experience this.
Could you send me the file by PM ? (Even with all the content deleted, keeping only the layers) The best would be a version of the file that was never saved since LP was installed.@dancho said:

That's not possible, unfortunatly

Workaround suggestion, size the window and leave a small clickable header in the HTML itself.
-
I guess I could do that, thanks
But still not dockable, though -

This is a marvelous idea - SketchUp has needed this sought of control of layers for a long time. BUT .....It makes my version of SketchUp (2013) very unstable to the point of being unusable. I have had to uninstall the plugin.
Am I doing something wrong?
-
Too bad it doesn't work in OSX. Looks like a good plugin. Now if it worked on a real operating system….just imagine.
Dave Richards might quit looking in a mirror.

Please don't come here to troll...
The reason why it doesn't work on your "real" OS is because Safari handles javascript requests higgledy-piggledy. JS sends a bunch of informations to ruby, and safari says "oh well, let's just put all of this into the trash and keep only the last one".
So much for a real OS.Even though I'm happy to take request, I primarily develop this plugin for myself. And I don't really like MacOS (The OS itself, Apple's politic, etc...), so I'm not really motivated to develop Layers Panel for it. Guess what? People coming here smugly, telling me that their OS is superior, and should be the one and only, don't really motivate me much more!

What are you experiencing, exactly ?

Well I have been chastized before and probably will be again, but I must apologize for offending you about OS versus Windoze. If my comments are considered Trollish, that is because I am unaware of what a Troll in this context is.
I am an architect and have programmed on Microsoft based equipment since before Windows…when we could only use DOS. I have used SU from the early versions (2 or 3) and have seen and used many good plugins and yours caught my eye as being one that would be of much use to me.
I realize that most addins/extensions are created out of the need of an individual to simplify their work or to emulate a desirable feature of another program and applaud your creation of this plugin. I was really hoping to be able to use it in my workflow…hence my disappointment; maybe even a dosappointment.
About 6 years ago, I switched to OSX and have not experienced the Blues Screen of Death since. Being familiar with many languages that are platform independent, I did not look to see that your extension was Windows specific…my first bad.
I regularly use javascripts and rubies to create programs and have not run into issues with Safari that are insurmountable, but I respect your opinion of Apple and trust that you respect mine regarding Windows. As I have not delved into the SU API myself, I do not know where the problem with OSX lies but I hope that you can overcome it, either yourself or with help from an OSX user on this forum.
Again, my apologies for my comment regarding OSX as I meant no disrespect toward you or your work. I look forward to the day that I can post some glowing report of my experience with this plugin/extension.
From reading the other posts, it would appear that your program is being well received.
Regards,

It's ok... I'm just sick of this PC/Mac war.
In the meantime, you can always try the plugin. I know for a fact that some people on OSX use it everyday.
