Plugins held outside of SCF and their reliability/safety
-
I was looking at one of Eneroth's plugins and when I went for more info was surprised it took me straight to their w3 page
- how do we know plugins held 'off site' are safe and secure and won't mess with the plugs we already have?

That's a great question. In the case of Eneroth's plugins, I expect they are safe. They are included in the Extension Warehouse. But, if you don't know the source to be trustworthy, it is a good idea to do some research before installing what might possibly be a script that would damage something. I suppose asking here on SCF would be a first step. Maybe someone else has come across the plugin you're interested in.

Nothing gets added to the store without some scrutiny first.
This is why there are still so many omissions.
The PluginStore is safe to use but that doesn't mean it is free from abuse.
If in doubt don't use it.

Eneroth's plugins are great.
