      Hello,

After a successful installation of the latest version of Fredo6's plugin Round Corners in my SketchUp 8 free version on my Mac running 10.6.8, nothing happens when I use the tool.

Other tool of Fredo6 like the Scale tool and Curviloft work just fine. The only other plugin I have installed is Sketchy Physics. That is not on the list of problem plugins for the Round Corners plugin.

Any suggestions what the problem / solution may be?

      Thanks,

Sketchy Physics IS known to cause some issues with native methods for groups etc, and it has been warned against generally...
So try disabling SketchyPhysics and restarting, then retry the RoundCorner tool.
The easiest way to enable/disable plugins is by using the 'Plugins Manager' tool that is supplied with the 'SketchUcation Plugin Store' toolset... http://sketchucation.com/resources/plugin-store-download

Of course SP might not be the culprit at all πŸ˜’

Have you installed the latest LibFredo... also available form the SCF PluginStore page OR AutoInstalled from the 'Plugin Store' dialog running within SketchUp itself... [note that these kind of 'reinstalls' need a restart to effect the changes]
Let us know when you find the cause... πŸ˜•

          Hello TIG,

I removed the Sketchy Physics plugins by hand. (Can't seem to find the download for the Plugins Manager via the link you gave. Pushing "Try it now" button results in a screen full of 'code'. )

After removing the Sketchy Physics plugins, still nothing happens when I try to use the Round Corners plugin. I have version 49 of LibFredo installed. The other Fredo6 plugins like Curviloft and FredoScale work fine.

So no cause found yet. Any other suggestions? Do you need any additional info?

          Thanks for your reply,

            Hello TIG,

It took a few hurdles but I got the Plugins Manager installed. And now the Round Corners plugin is working as well. Maybe it was the write access for the plugins folder that was the problem. I had to change that to enable the Plugins Manager to be installed. I also re-installed Sketchy Physics and Round Corners still works. So it was not to blame.

            Thanks for your support,

I've added Fredo6: RoundCorner v2.3a to my plugsins using SketchUcation Plugins Manager and restarted SU, but RoundCorner does not work.

                Bob,

If you have the menu and the icons, then could you open the Ruby console and check if you see a message when you launch RoundCorner.

Obviously a "permissions" problem: fixed and now working
Thanks for the "push in the right direction" πŸ˜„

                    Dynamic-Loading:
Several of Fredo's tools are construed in such a way that if you install them using the AutoInstall feature [OR even manually install from an RBZ archive] then you will need to restart SketchUp to see the changes that they bring...
Most plugins can be 'dynamically-loaded', and these will give their new functionality immediately they are loaded, but some - like Fredo's - do require a restart 😞

                    Permissions:
The AutoInstaller will have checked if there are permission issues, but some subtle limitations might still escape this checking... so it's always best to manually check and ensure that you have given FULL security-permissions to the Plugins folder for ALL users: especially, immediately after you make a new installation of SketchUp - when Windows has a nasty habit of initially limiting security-access to any new 'Program Files' folders/subfolders to protect you from yourself !! ... πŸ˜’
