Spent some time using Mick the Greek's displacement workflow in Blender.

Here's the orignal Blender render which is very dark...

      render-2-original.png

      Here's a curves adjusted version...

      render-2-original-adj.png

Here's the OTT post-pro which is best enjoyed at full res...

      render-2.png

Here'd the SU model in SU2013 64bit Pro Ultimate Edition Beta that now handles millions of polygons....

      Image 9.png

...no it's not not...it's Blender's new Freestyle rendering option which is incredible.

Here's a version that paid a visit to FotoSketcher then suffered an explosion because Superman flew through it.... πŸ˜’

I did model the cylinder in SU. Nearly 96 edges. SU didn't suffer any slowdown.

I'm testing a plugin that allows you to export QuadFace geometry in SU into Blender as Quads.

Looks like a Borg cylinder...You will be assimilated. We will add your distinctiveness to our collective. Resistance is futile.

                My avatar is an anachronism.

How did you add all that texture to the surface of that cylinder?
