Downloads blocked
-
Hi,
I've been a member for a while, but just a lurker - reading the stuff that I am interested in.
I recently added a hosts file to block certain sites from accessing my computer but now I am unable to download anything from your site
Can you advise me as to which entries to remove from my hosts file to re-enable downloads?
In short, who serves your ads?
regards,
Crypt.

Add 'sketchucation.com' to your AdBlocker's 'Exceptions' list
and you also need to except 'buysellads.com' because they will appear in the banner ads...
Adjust your hosts file IF you are sure you know what to do safely...
Also check you Firewall is allowing unfettered access...SketchUcation is funded mainly from its 'ad-revenue' - hosting and running a site like this costs money - it has to come from somewhere.
Under the 'Terms of Use' that every member signs up to, you agreed not to use 'AdBlockers' when accessing this site. If you do use them you cannot see attachments - so images and plugins etc become unavailable to you.
Allowing exceptions for SCF etc will restore their availability.
If you have any further issues please give fuller details and we'll try to help... -

except
I'm pretty sure Tig means "accept"... -
No... he needs to set his adblock app to except sketchucation.com AND buysellads - they are exceptions.
OR he can get his app to 'accept' them as being valid by making them exceptions...
BUT most such apps have an 'exceptions list... -
Sorry, I stand corrected... I never use those types of blockers and expected that they would use the common definitions of the words. You would Accept any connections you wanted Except any you didn't. Someone should tell every computer security company in the world to change that...
I suppose I have my form mistaken since you're "blocking" something, you're adding an "exception" to the blocking, not an exception to acceptance...

Thanks for your replies. I can now see everything including the ads.
