A two-part material question

please don't start making other stuff...every you do turns to gold

Well, triangulation didn't seem to agree with my Coke machine --
Don't know why this model should cause a problem, just used normal methods.

Actually another color is more accurate...sort of brownish

Can you send me the Coke machine and I have a blast?

You want the triangulated or non-triangulated version?
-
non-tri with textures not f$&ked up
-
Oh, I get it now....."Coke" machine
-
Ok, here it is. Keep in mind that it is just "set dressing" and not meant to stand up to close scrutiny as a stand-alone model.

This exported as one texture as a .kmz for me

Well, I didn't export the Coke machine to check the textures, I just deleted it from my gas station model and then exported it, and the small textures went away. Does that give you any insight as to what's going on?
-
so what exactly is yor problem now?
your original post was 'why do I have so many textures?' Then 'why is it taking ages to triangulate?'
So I took those to mean your were trying to export this as kmz to see if you get lots of textures?

Well, I went thru everything again, and discovered that I had made a major mistake. When I thought I had just deleted the Coke machine, I had in fact also deleted the red trashcan. When I export just the trashcan, I get all the tiny textures.
My apologies, I'm tired, I'm cold, and I need coffee.
