Import .jpg as separate entity
-
I cannot figure out how to keep an imported picture from binding to a wall when inserted on the wall. As soon as I insert it on the wall it attaches perm, where I cannot delete it. If I import it on a different layer, I can turn it off and on, but I am not able to manipulate the artwork. I would like each import to be its own entity so I can manipulate size and location when I place it on the wall.

I think I figured it it out. If I drag and drop a .jpg into sketchup it brings it in as a separate entity.

Or you could set the import to Use as Image instead of Use as Texture.

If you import an image-file as an Image you can have it NOT glued by simply inserting it in free-space.
If you have imported it an placed it onto a face it will glue onto it... BUT all is not lost...
Select the Image and the context-menu has an item 'Unglue': if you use that tool then the Image will be no longer 'stuck' onto that face, and it can then be move/rotated etc as desired - much like a Component that has gluing/cutting behavior like a window or door, that can also be 'unglued'...
