Brand New And Having Trouble Dowloading Component Library

Hello There,
I was wondering if anyone could help me out with downloading my component library. I have Sketchup Pro 8 and for some reason when I go to 'save as a local collection' the files do not save for me.
Does anyone have an answer to this question?

When you are in the Model tab and you choose on the fly-out menu item 'Save as a local collection...' what happens ?
Your report of the problem is not very exact
You should get a dialog entitled 'Browse for Folder'...
You then navigate to an existing folder, or make a new one, and select that; then click OK.All of the model's components should then be copied into that chosen folder as separate SKP files.
Ensure that you have full permissions to write to that chosen folder [context-menu Properties > Security etc]...
