Thanks Paul.
I must admit it's kinda nice not having to deal with all the curved surfaces for a change. But really the only reason I'm doing this is because a friend on one of the car forums asked if I would. So I figured I'd give it a shot.
But I still can't render

That's excellent gas station. First one huh?
Why don't you stick to cars, Show-off?
-
So why don't you post the .skp and see what we can do with it. I can explain how to do in in KT.
-
Good idea, why not make it a render challenge.
-
Ditto good idea

Wyy don't try Lumion ?
Very funny, very easy and you can make also animation!
(With free version because Pro is a Pro priceAnd their forum seem very friendly!
Thanks, but I've decided to stick with Kerkythea. Maybe after (if) I figure that one out I will try some others, but my old brain can only support so much right now.
And what do you mean when you say Lumion3d is "very funny"?

Thanks, and after this I probably will stick with my cars. I must admit though, I was surprised how quickly the modeling goes when you don't have to deal with complex curves and shapes all the time.

It's not finished enuf to post yet. The only reason I posted the pic was in case somebody was considering taking me up on my offer, I wanted to let them see what they would be working with. But I guess that's not going to happen. Maybe I should up my offer to $300. Let's just say the price is negotiable.

You could still try Twilight. It is Kerkythea based - in fact, once you set up your scene, materials etc. you can export it into Kerkythea (only with the full, paid version though - but $99 is not a huge sum) and examine how the materials are set up for instance. I have learnt a lot doing this actually.

I am definitely interested in taking you up on your offer. I'll PM you with some more details.
-
I haven't posted these till now because I don't think they are as good as most that I see in the gallery they where me learning KT
-
Wow! Been waitin for your cars in a old station. Nice start.
I have a suggestion. Others here might not agree but I suggest Twilight.
It is the little brother of Kerkythea.
They are deveolped by the same team once . Twilight is very easy & powerful. The best part you can send files to Kerlythea and use all Kerkythea textures.
Te leaning curve is short, great tute and you can leverage that knowledge as you p[rogress.Seen some great work by people on this site. Just learning myself.
Remember some nice work by Solo way back. -
And there is a friendly forum!
-
Ok, you guys have got me curious about Twilight. I've downloaded the manual, will study it today. One thing that concerns me a bit, in their "gallery", they show only one example of a car (and to be perfectly honest it looks only average). If I ever do learn how to render I want something that is going to do a good job on cars, not just architecture. Any thoughts there?
Any opinions on Podium?
I'm getting a headache.

I'd suggest Thea personally.

I can't find the price anywhere on their site, and that scares me. Seems if it was a good price they would display it prominently, or at least make it easy to find.

Steve, click on e-Shop button on upper right of the home page.

Yeah, and we're talking almost 400 of those dollars . Way too much for someone who doesn't even know if he will ever be able to use it.
