      using SU8Pro.
      using TOP view
      When I copy and paste, the new image is a distance behind the base drawing so that I have to pull it towards me. It's as if SU wants to form a new layer back there. Any ideas as to what I need to do to correct this. Thanks

      PS: If I don't use TOP view, 3D text is lying on its side.

        The image should be imported on the ground plane automatically. Is it going somewhere below the ground plane?

        Depending upon your camera position 3D will try to lay on the ground plane but if don't want it on the ground plane you can lower the viewpoint of the camera or create a face onto which the text can be inserted. I don't know what you mean about the text coming in on its side.

        Pictures of what you are getting would really be helpful.

            So you aren't pasting an image, you're copying and pasting geometry? That's an important difference.

            Are you using Copy and Paste? If you want the copy of the geometry to be next to the original, use the copy function of the Move tool. and move the copy in the desired direction. Hit Ctrl on PC or Option on Mac to invoke the copy function.

            Your second image doesn't show enough information to see what's really going on. Where do you want the 3D text to appear? I'm guess you aren't really using the standard top view but I can't be sure without seeing the SKP file.
