Anything by Deke McClelland

If it says Photoshop cs, Photoshop 8 - then yes, you have the full version of Photoshop (not Elements). It is the first version of Photoshop where they switch to the "CS" nomenclature. So they probably also referred to it as "8" in places, but in truth, it is widely known as version Photoshop CS(1).
So look for a book on Photoshop CS. Here is the Dummy's book by the author Rich recommends:

Background clouds...ok I'm new to PS...and I've found a couple utube videos to help...
but for some reason its just not working. CAN someone please help me so that I can import
backgrounds to my SU models, I'm really trying, maybe its my PS...nor sure. BUT it would really be appreciated here.....eccowboy thanks -
A background in SU is not really connected to photoshop....
Do you just want a background in SU? Try adding a watermark in the styles dialog window. Is that what you're trying to do?
-
actually I want to import the SU model into photoshop.....and insert a background there, i.e. clouds...I have an idea how it works...but its not going to well.
thx..eccowboy

Ahh, got it!
So did you manage to open the sketchup jpg in photoshop? In the Layers pane, double click on the "Background" layer (the sketchup image) and when the little box pops up, just hit enter. That should unlock the layer so you can work with it better.
Then use magic wand to select the sky in the model image and delete it. Then insert the could picture into the image, make sure its layer is below the sketchup model image. And then move it around how you want it.
That is a very simplified explanation of it all. But is that approximately what you';re trying to do? What part is not working?

I know how to insert the SU image, thats easy, but I want to insert cloud backgrouns, I followed the steps, like to name a selection etc and you see the outline of the background around the building. Then I go into google and copy a background scene. BUT when its time to insert it it doesn't happen. SO what do I do Chris
-
Ahh, its hard to copy and paste from the internet directly into Photoshop. Some webpages make it harder than others, some browsers make it harder than others. I would say to save the picture from the internet onto your computer (like your desktop) and then just drag it into the photoshop image.
Does that help?

as always chris yes it does.................thanks so much
