Bench test
-
A small test with a bench made in Sketchup and rendered in Maxwell for Sketchup.
-
Nice textures, to increase the realism try to add some bump map...
-
Nice texture +1.
BUT from a real-world perspective wouldn't the grain run the long direction of the seat?
It'll crack and break as currently modeled.
Also the direction the grains on the three visible sides needs to follow the natural direction, whichever that it... -
You're absolutely right, but it was a quick test
Also I don't know how to change the direction of the textures in sketchup. (help)The Maxwell plugin gives you access to thousands of super textures but they only can be used a provided.(for the moment?)
You need the full Maxwell to edit them (bump etc..) -

You need the full Maxwell to edit them (bump etc..)Edit the group. Select the surface with the texture. Right click and in the pop up menu, select Textures, then Position.
Odd looking XYZ handles will pop up and you can then rotate the texture. You can also skew and size with this tool as well.
