SU is loaded but I can't see anything!
-
I can see autumn leaves and green grass...
Seriously, try minimising SU then maximise again; happens from me time to time.
-
Does Sketchup automatically install itself in C>ProgramFiles(x86), as opposed to just ProgramFiles, or do you have to tell it where? I can't remember
This may not have anything to do with your issue.
-
Well that's a new one on me.
Have you tried manipulating the OpenGL settings in Window>Preferences? What is the graphics card/chipset?
-
First of all the autumn leaves and green grass is my desktop background
mitcorb you are supposed to tell it where to install, but as we all know SU installs even in 64 bit as a 86 program!
Dave R what do you mean by saying to manipulate the OpenGL settings???
I have an Nvidia GeForce 130 GT 1GB, there is no way I have that kind of a problem! -
No way, huh? So it sounds as if you're unwilling to even try changing the OpenGL settings. Whatever.
-
It looks to be a graphic card issue. (Verify by temporarily disable Hardware Acceleration under Preferences -> OpenGL. If the viewport comes back then it's a graphic card issue.)
Could be the driver - have you updated the drivers? -

Could be the driver - have you updated the drivers? That's what I was thinking but he's sure it isn't related to the OpenGL settings nor the graphics card.
-
Well, I'm still betting on the graphic card and drivers. Until it's been eliminated from the list, as in actually testing by disabling hardware acceleration, I'd not debug any further.
-
I agree 100%.
-
Guys the first thing that came to my mind was the graphic card!
But how can my computer run programs like 3ds max, pro evolution soccer 13 and nba 2k13 and not running sketch up???
Can you give me step by step guidance in order to testify if there is a card driver or anything else problem!
Thank you in advance!
-
hey guys I've just disabled the hardware acceleration and the viewport came back!
So as you said it is a graphic card issue! The thing is that i' ve just updated the drivers from the device manager!
Any suggestions???
-
here is a screenshot of the graphic card diagnostics!

I'm guessing those uses DirectX - SketchUp uses OpenGL. Seems to be an OpenGL issue with your graphic card.
A bit strange - as nVidia cards works best with OpenGL than any other brands I've used. I'm not sure what the problem might be. Maybe a regression in the latest drivers?
What if you try different AA modes in the OpenGL preferences of SketchUp?

What do you mean by that?
