Ok.. I have been using SketchUp since ver.3 on the Mac. I just got a new job at an architecture firm that only uses PC's.

My question is why does SU (ver.8) on windows want to close the document I am working on in order to open a new one? I don't get it.. I can't have multiple documents open at the same time?

If someone could please explain this I would appreciate it.

      Very frustrated.

      Thanks.

      Shawn

With Mac you can have more than one model open in one and the same SketchUp instance.
With a PC you have to start a second instance of SketchUp to have a second model open.
So the approach working with different models at the same time is "slightly" different.
But you can copy to clipboard -> paste (in place) between models.

On PC if you go through the SU menu you can only have the one instance. If you go to the SU launch icon or an SKP file in windoze explorer (not IE!) you can as described above open a second copy of SU alongside the first.
