      Hi,
after 3-5 mb it is so slow that i cant put the shadow on ... and i don´t know why ... i have a notebook with a i7 processor 8GB ram and the Radeon HD 6370M 1GB graphics Card(asus x52j) win7 64 bit... is the graphic card too bad? a friend has a 5 year old laptop and it works over 100 mb ... i reinstalled the graphics Card and made a update ... but it is just the same ... i reinstalled sketchup too and it is the same ... ??? i hope you guys have an answer:)

      thanks mullan 😎

This doesn't sound right. I work well over this file size all the time, although 5 mb of foliage versus 5 mb of cubes can make a lot of difference.
One thing you may want to try is turning on Hidden Geometry, just to see that you haven't inadvertently duplicated something. Other wise, if you can post the file, we could have a look.

File size doesn't say much. If you have lots of components there could be a lot of geometry in a small file.
Also, a small model (little geometry) can have a large filesize due to textures.
Unused components and styles etc can also add to the filesize.

Can you post the stats of the file? From Model Info > Statistics?

Also, is Hardware Acceleration enabled? Under Preferences > OpenGL

Shadows, edge styles and transparency does make a model slow quite quickly. To tell if the behaviour we need to know more.

          Screenshots are always good.

I have never had good results with shadows on in any model. Maybe I am doing something wrong. I never understood why people insist on working with shadows on anyhow. Every model I have downloaded has shadows on! Its kind of annoying.
