Just came across an IO6 app called SketchUp+ in the App Store. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with Trimble or SketchUp. Very surprised they can get away with this!!

I'm sure they just want to increase awareness of their company, when a large corp sues them.
I mean, how could anyone be THAT stupid ?? (And they used Google-like alternating colors in the logo.)

I know that SketchUp [Trimble] are on the case even as I type this...
It's a clear infringement of several things - assuming that they still have registered Trademark, Copyright etc etc, then someone is being stupid in trying this on... -

It seems SketchUp+ copied more than just a name. -
They have only just 'got onto it' - that is become aware of it - it'll take a while for sites to remove things following their remonstrations - e.g. I'm sure iTunes won't host it [and its ilk] after they are fully conversant with the issues...
Alternatively perhaps Trimble buy the product and absorb it - probably what the author hopes for... -
They're also trying to get Disney's goat. Gotta hand it to them.
Both apps' appearance and presentation give credance that the word "SketchUp" implies a useless child's drawing program that can't even do that right.

I'm surprised it made it into the app store, but then Apple and Google aren't exactly pals anymore. Apple: Oops, how did that app get in there? Yeah...we must've missed that somehow.
