Select similar?

Would is be possiable for someone to make a ruby plugin that would allow us to click on a componet and then select all similar?

Did you look in the Plugins Index?
Try looking through Thomthom's plugins.

Why do you need a plugin? It is already hard coded.
Open "Components" window, click/highlight required component, rt-click, "Select Instances". Job done.
