      Hi all

I use to draw and paint many years ago, before SU, and was wondering if anyone knows of a way to project an SU drawing onto a piece of canvas, so you can paint the plan
      I hope this is clear
I'm thinking you can make some good abstract ,perspective paintings

      Thanks Dean

Some large format printers can handle different materials.

          Hi,

my wife plugs her computer into an overhead digital projector, set up to come over her shoulder onto the canvas.

all the ones I've setup have alignment settings to correct the sharp angle needed to avoid shadowing/masking.

I have also used them onto glass from behind for some thiner papers, but you loose detail as you apply media.

What type of projector would you recommend and what sort of price
I don't really want to spend a lot to start with, if I find out I'm not very good ;0)

I watched someone print on to a canvas in the computer lab in college several years ago. It was a HP Designjet printer. As for projectors, the cheapest solution is one of these art projectors http://www.jerrysartarama.com/discount-art-supplies/projectors-and-lightboxes/artograph-projectors-and-lightboxes/artograph-tracer-projector.htm

Have to get the oils out ;0)

Any one with more info or ideas I would love to hear

Does that projector produce coloured or B/W images?

That projector Valerostudio linked to is just a light, a mirror and a lens. The original artwork needs to be printed on paper so it'll project whatever you printed.
