While working on modelling a 4 storey apartment complex, my model suddenly became increasingly slow, coming to the point where absolutely any command whatsoever now freezes everything for about 5 minutes. I figured it wasn't just my machine, as I have a fairly new desktop with 24gb ram, 3.2 i7 CPU, and the works to go with it.

I discovered that even though I am only a little more than a day into the model, I have 12,173 component definitions showing up in my "model info" "statistics" panel, when I would expect it to be closer to 200. Any ideas about what might be going wrong or how I can fix it?

I've been using SketchUp for 4 years now without running into this problem. I've always tried to keep my models clean and organized, so I'm not sure what is going on at all.

After Purging Unused, use the Outliner to see what's what...

Are you using dynamic components? They have a habit of quietly breeding!
