Thea For SketchUp 1.0 (Preview video)
-
Thea is way faster then Maxwell!
-
Another BIG + for Thea.
-
Great!
2 questions...
1 - will there be a limitation with the non 64 bit - similar to Twilight's choking under the 32 bit restrictions?
2 - Relight? Is that accessible through this new interface? -

So far in my testing, SU/Thea is limited to what SU can handle, other than that I have not seen any limits, however the solution to this is to export to studio when you are ready to add heavy poly models and it will export all your settings as you have in SU into studio.

Currently this is not yet included, but then again there are still so many things to be added I'm sure Tomasz has this in the plan.

Solo, if you are not looking for a super render, can you save as is from sketchup?
-
Oh yeah, absolutely.
-
Thanks,... it's going to be tough waiting for it.

The SU/Thea plugin renders the same quality and all the same engines as the Studio, so you can render at full quality with it.

Windows and Mac?

Wow, finally Thea comes to Meet Maxwell and Podium!!!!!

Just to clarify on the Mac version. I guess Dale was referring to Thea Studio available for Mac since the first release.
The plugin will be also available for both systems, OSX & Windows, from a day of a first public release.

Yes Edson, I have had it on my Mac from it's release.
this is great news. perhaps this is the reason they took so long to port twilight to mac: they were preparing a thea plugin!
Twilight development is independent to Thea or Thea For SketchUp (but naturally partly related to Kerkythea developement as it's based on Kerkythea render core). Thea got OSX and Linux versions from the beginning, so it's natural that SU for mac is supported too.

From this I wonder if a Mac version will even be out within a year....
We want to release the plugin for both platforms simultaneously. Thea4SU user interface is based on multi-platform library that will give Mac's version a native look. I will post a screen-shot or a short video, when we will have an OSX build.
-
thanks, tomasz and notareal. the important thing is that there will be a Thea4SU mac version.

Sorry for the confusion, I should have added the above quote to my comment.
I believe the only integrated software I cannot use with Thea is Colimo, as it is only PC based at the moment, as it was developed for DirectX not open GL. But it too is in the works from Motiva. -
Any news on this exciting product? e.g release / demo date?
