I'm not a mac guy and gave up on acad long ago, but someone might be interested, maybe, for awhile. Pardon if this has come up already.

        Thanks,

It's free anyway. Good for A-D, start off by insulting Mac owners! [Edit, OK that's Wired writing this]

It is appropriately named โ€œFusionโ€ since the only thing that has seemed more unlikely than useful CAD on a Mac is cold fusion.

as likely as a decent deal from A-D.

Probably bought a company and couldn't do anything else with it. But I'll definitely look at it.

the wired writer gives a good pitch for fusion (on a phone.. can't try it right now)
I'll be checking it out so thanks for the heads up.. ๐Ÿ‘

re:Mac cad.. I'm hyped all these programs are coming.. weird that most of them are in beta right now (cool that they're all free to use for the time being ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

once the dust settles-- maybe 2 years from now-- Macs are going to be full on legit cad computers.

Been doing CAD on Macs since 88 and no problem here.

              All which programs coming out?

oh. right. maybe the tongue->cheek didn't come through.
all of my stuff is done on Mac too and always has been. (well, since 2000.. prior was drafting and/or napkins)

but you know the old 'macs are toys... can't do any real work etc' line..
it's always funny hearing that stuff but we probably won't be in a couple of years.

Yes if you want to do work on overpriced bloatware. We DO need to see some Power towers
                  though

not sure why it's so big.. the app doesn't feel bloated.. maybe there's some sort of library containing (?) that I haven't come across yet?

after messing around with fusion for a few minutes, it seems pretty nice.
I'll try something more serious when I'm done with my current project and report back.

Looks to be oriented to industrial design. In the download questionnaire "AEC" was not even listed as type of profession.

I wonder if AD plans to bundle this with AutoCAD Mac like they do with AutoCAD on the PC? That is that you get Inventor Fusion with your copy of AutoCAD.
