Startup issues

On my laptop at home I'm running Vista and when I start the program the first box comes up with tips/vids/and all that jive, and then it comes up with just a blank white page.
I can't see any lines that I draw or anything else. Also I installed the program at work and it had a page that asked me units of measurement and then started up perfectly fine with the x/y/z axis.
Anyone had this problem and know how to fix it?

Go to Window > Preferences > OpenGL settings and disable hardware acceleration. Restart SU and see if the issue persists. If it "seems" fixed, your main problem is that probably your laptop comes with some integrated video chipset which cannot handle OpenGL properly. If this is the case, there's not much you can do about it and SU may become slower with more complex models.
If you have a dedicated card though, you can try to update its video driver and see if now it works with hardware acceleration enabled.

IT has a craptastic intel chip set so that's the issue!
Do laptops come with video cards now instead of soldered in chips?

Who knows ?
It's your kit...
What is it [exactly] ? -
I have a laptop with an nvidia gtx 540 card (with 1Gb memory) so some laptops do come with dedicated cards.
