      Hi,

I inserted a couple of images (PNG) in my Sketchup drawing but after the render those images where gone.
      Any thoughts/tips?

What renderer are you using. How did you insert the images? As materials? Did you apply them to back faces? Lots of variables but you've given us little to go on.

I know that when using podium for rendering that .png files you intend to render must be exploded and re grouped prior to rendering.

Indeed there is a big difference between (unexploded) image entities and faces textured with an image material. Not every renderer can render image entities and even if one can, it is still better to explode it as image entities may take forever to antialias (see Twilight for instance).
