Create face from line
-
Rusty here. Looking or a simple way to create a face from a line, taking the line as the center line for the resulting face. In my dim memory I remember such a thing, but like water it slips through my fingers. The face in the bottom of the image results from running the command or plugin on the line in the upper part.

You could do it with Offset and if your original lines are the centerlines, you would do two offsets, one in either direction.
I think there's a plugin to do it, too but I don't remember the name. Maybe ThomThom's done it for making streets.

The cumbersome offset was what lead me to inquire, Dave.
srx has got a promising ticket, though, and I thank you both very much.
