In an attempt to both bury the polarizing religious threads and start something a little more agreeable, I was wondering what y'all have watched recently worth mentioning.
I'm into mini series type stuff that I can watch almost from beginning to end on a day off, like for instance my favorites (in no ranked position)
Spartacus (Starz)
Rome (HBO, BBC collaboration)
Downton Abbey (BBC)
White collar (USA network)
MI5/Spooks (BBC)
Luther (BBC)
Borgia (TV Canal) There is an HBO one also which I have not watched yet
Girl with the Dragon tattoo (trilogy) Swedish version, American version is too dark and misses the point.I have a bunch more, however my memory eludes me. Feel free to add to list as i wanna load up my Netflix queue.

Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Generation Kill.
-
Game of Thrones
Boardwalk Empire
The Hardy Bucks (YouTube it ) -
I have the box set of Band of Brothers, excellent stuff, and watched the Pacific which was good but not as good as band of brothers. Not seen generation Kill, but will add it to my list, thanks.
Oh, just remembered a fantastic one that I just finished watching season 2 of, The walking dead
Just brilliant, even my wife who hates zombie movies got glued to this.

Game of Thrones looks awesome, wife likes the main actor (lord of the rings right?)
The Hardy bucks is a web based show right? how to get it on TV?

Dunno? I watch TV on a TV. I guess I'm old fashioned.

Breaking Bad is great.
I've only just caught up with S2 and forgot how good it was. I can't wait around for a UK broadcaster to pick up the show (probably will not happen) so I've had no choice but to order the third season on region 1 DVD.
-
Not sure if you guys get/got it over the pond, but the BBC series of Sherlock was absolutely brilliant television.
-
Yes, we do, I saw it on Netflix, but was showing on BBC America, I liked the quirky Sherlock Holmes.
-
Big Bang Theory (CBS)
24 (FOX)
Suits (USA Network)
Firefly (FOX-SyFy)
Burn Notice (USA Network)
And I don't know why I love it so much but:
Deadliest Catch (Discovery Channel) -
As I only get the few broadcast stations, my choices are limited, but I have found PBS to have some excellent programming.
Downton Abbey
Masterpiece Theatre (sometimes)
Nature
The Inspector Lewis series
just about anything by National Geographic
Mysteries of the Dead
American Experience
Keeping Up Appearances
The Vicar of Dibley (when it airs)
Big Bang Theory
Hawaii Five-O
The Amazing Race (the only "reality" show I will watch)
Meet the Press (sometimes, when not sick of politics)
Spartacus (have to wait 'til it's out on dvd)
The Tudors (this got a "C" for historical accuracy, but I found it entertaining)
The Clone Wars (cartoon)
The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross (who doesn't like watching a hippy dude painting happy trees?)Another BBC series that I enjoyed but haven't seen in a very long time was the "Black Adder" comedies.
The new Sherlock Holmes comes on after Downton Abbey, but I haven't been able to get into it.

Eric, Are they continuing with Firefly? as it was fantastic.
I loved Caprica also, the back story of Battlestar Galactica.
I recently did a marathon viewing of Ice road truckers, wow, that was riveting viewing.

Who couldn't like 'Sherlock' ???
What's not to like ???? -

Gavin and Stacey

Agreed.
-Deadwood
-Black Books
-Sherlock
-The Killing (the first season, not the second)
-Wallander (the original series)
-Entourage
-Riget (old, yet still rather impressive)And, erm, something of a guilty pleasure: Stargate Atlantis.
-
Aaah, Black books, what a great choice, too bad it ended.

I totally enjoyed Stargate Universe, with Robert Carlisle, what an excellent series, and also Star Trek: Enterprise with Scott Bakula was brilliant,I liked how they were still inventing the technology as seen in later series, almost like the back story.

Top Gear returned the other night. Epic. Do ye get across the pond at same time?
-
I have seen all the Top Gears that are available here, I believe we are up to season 13. Brilliant, Love Jeremy's loose mouth, Richard the metrosexual and slow poke James, we have a version here that tries to mimic the Brit version but fails in every way, we are way too PC for it to be as good, plus we seem too scared to criticize bad models may be an advertising thing. Jeremy calls a model crap when he sees one and I love that honesty.
