you should try searching the 3dWarehouse for 'materials'. It full of some very useful packs.
As for the 'Coming Soon' I think I read somewhere that Google is concetrating on using the warehouse as a means of delivering components and materials to the great unwashed.And there's even a material pack or two in the components/material/styles forum

You can also install the SU 6 bonus packs - just make sure to point the installer (which would be looking for SketchUp 6 in your file system) to SU 7.
To tell the truth, I am building my own material libraries (step by step as I need new materials and create them from texture images on the course) rather than using the built in or bonus packs but they are still there for version 6...

Yes, I know what you mean and of course, you are right; SU 7 came out much more than a year ago and the bonus packs are still not there.
