[BASICS] Default render overexposed
-
Hi,
I started going step by step through the Vray for Sketchup manual (http://www.vray.com/vray_for_sketchup/manual/render_options_for_vray_for_sketchup.shtml), set render options to default settings and ran the render.
What I expected was: http://www.vray.com/vray_for_sketchup/manual/vray_for_sketchup_manual/render_options_for_vray_for_sketchup/vray_for_sketchup_render_options_5.jpg but the render looks like this: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/59/defaultrender.jpg/
Do You have any idea why do I get such a overexposed render, not like the one in the manual?

Sorry for digging up the thread, but i'm still struggling with the default render results.
I try to go step by step through the vray manual, but i'm stuck on the very beggining.
I've been trying to achieve the same render result as in the manual (shown on the pics in my previous posts) but i still can't get the proper gray result
Can you please try to give my some advice? I've tried dozens of settinggs and still fail after fail.
Can you get the proper result on your computer?

If you are using the latest 1.49.01 VR, then that manual is somewhat out of date. A lot has changed since that manual came out back in the 1.05 release days. The best thing you can do is watch all of the Youtube videos that are posted on the Chaos page. There is a sticky for them at the top of these forums. Watch them all and you will be well on your way.

Thank you very much for the hint.
I decided to go step by step through the manual because first of all I wanted to understand the basics of render settings and find out how does each parameter affect the final render.
I'm slowly convincing myself to change my approach and learn right from the mentioned vids, especially taking into consederation the time I spent figuring out why the heck is my default render different from anythyng I've seen
Can you please tell me can I find somewhere the scenes used in the ChaosGroup tutorials?

I don't think the scenes are available. Its not about that. Its about learning those principles and apply them to your own scenes. I like to make a just generic scene with a few boxes or maybe a simple house model.

you maybe can try to take a look at camera settings that control the exposure..
The GI light intensity as well also effect the brightness of the scene.
