Render won't start...?

Im trying to render a chapel interior I made. Whenever I click to render, vray starts to prepare it but stops even before opening a new render window and that's it.
I read some articles on web about problems with rendering too big sketchup files... I must add that the chapel is 113mb large.
Does anyone have a clue what could be wrong and how am I supposed to fix that?

I am having the same problem, with a 9.3 Mb. It was working and then suddenly stopped.
Does your VRay render on a smaller file?

Save the file, and restart SU.
What you also can do is purge unused materials in SU and in Vray.

Thanks for your suggestion, I had tried it just before you posted it.
I found that if I deleted the lights and then reconstructed them as a component (I only had four rectangle lights but they were groups).
It works now, so the approach seems to be the same as with native SU, components instead of groups and purge, purge and purge.

I purged everything countless times during work, saved file, restarted SU and it's the same again. Is there something related to SU or Vray settings I may change to fix that?

The latest version of our software comes along with a few tools to help you if a particular scene (especially older scenes) doesn't render correctly. They can be found in the Plugins->V-Ray for SketchUp->Help->Debugging menu. They are as follows:
Regenerate all V-Ray Materials - This tool will delete any material information that is currently stored in the V-Ray Material Editor. Then it will iterate through the SketchUp scene, treating it as if it never had any V-Ray material data in it before, and it will create a V-Ray material for every SketchUp material. The newly generate material will only have a Diffuse layer. This tool is useful if your scene's materials are preventing you from rendering, and the Force Sync tool doesn't do the job. Keep in mind that while using this tool, any materials you have set up are going to be completely destroyed, so it might be a good idea to back up the scene prior to running this tool. In addition, if this tool allows you to successfully render the scene, then you know that the issue was a material in your scene. So you can just load your old backup scene, save all of your materials, run the tool, and then import that materials back in to your scene. If after importing one of the materials, you notice that the scene fails to render, then you found your problem. If after importing all of the materials back in to the scene, it still renders fine, then there was probably just some data corruption that was floating around from an old version.
Force Sync for All Materials - This tool will iterate over all of the materials in the SketchUp material editor, and then all of the materials in the V-Ray material editor. The two lists of materials are compared, and if either the SketchUp or the V-Ray material editor is missing a material that the other editor has, a new material is created to correspond with the missing material. This tool should not be destructive.
Clear Texture Cache Folder - Every time you open SketchUp, the directory we write textures gets cleaned out. Occasionally, it helps to have that folder wiped during a SketchUp session. This is usually something that isn't going to help unless you're about knee deep in code though, so I don't recommend using it unless directed.

Have you ensured you have the latest version, 1.49.01 - many things have been fixed in that version from the previous ones.

Hi to everyone!
I have a similar problem - that is "v-ray is currently processing your scene..." shows up, bu then disappears and no frame buffer shows up.
I have had that problem with very heavy scenes before on a different computer, but this time it happens in a raw scene with just the standard 2d person in it.
The problem occurs on a laptop with the following hardware: processor T5500 1.66Ghz, 667 Mhz FSB, 2Mb L2 cache; 2.49 Gb RAM; graphic card: mobile intel 945 GM. free space on disk C is 9.03Gb.
Do you think it might be a problem with the computers parameters?
However sketchup itself is working without problems on this laptop.I hope someone can help me with this problem. Thanx in advance!

I've had that problem in the past too, and I noticed that having multiple SketchUp files open while trying to render can, on occasion, cause an error to occur while rendering, at least in my case that is.

Yes, I have noticed that as well, although an error window showed up when two or more sketchup files were opened.
In this case however there is only one file opened and the render doesn't start.
The V-ray is 1.49.01. I tried reinstalling it once, but I guess I'll have to do that again and maybe this time it helps.
One more weird thing i noticed was that the v-ray options window showed up blank without the system, camera, and all the other bars.
Only after clicking on load defaults did the bars show up. -
I made some small changes this morning before the vray server was up and running... Once I had it up and running it wouldn't render. I started deleting all of the lighting and came across one of the lights I had put in while the server was down. Once I deleted that out of the scene, everything worked fine. Maybe since I put it in while the vray wasnt running, it made the program crash every time I tried to render.

same problem here - render wouldn't start - render window wouldn't open - i had 4 x vray rectangular lights saved as components - i exploded these -
render issue was fixed! -

select the entire 3D model and explode it and your render will work better

This topic is veeery old, bud I find myself having the same problem in v-ray 3.4
And I have a beast of a machine - threadripper 1950x + 32 gb RAM + GTX 1080Ti.
No luck with xeon at work.
Any new info on the solution?
