Help with Troubleshooting

I have an annoying problem in SU. Under preferences I have set the selection tool to spacebar as the shortcut. It says "space" in the box.
However when I press the spacebar while drawing, SOME OF THE TIME, the model info window opens to "Geo-location" and the select tool does not select.

On top of this in the menu the shortcut for "select" is given as command-/ (this is a Mac). This sequence works but I don't want it. I want the spacebar, which SU was set to when I first started using it.

I've set the Model Info window to another shortcut. That doesn't help.

Also when I open, the select tool is not activated.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? A lot of the time the space bar works for this, then it reverts to bringing up the geo-location window.

I was just poking around my Mac after reading your post, Peter. Under Tools, Select has the same Command-/ shortcut but Space is shown in the list of shortcuts. Do you have a shortcut established for the Geo-Location thing?

Thanks Wind-borne. It seemed to help to change the Mac settings as noted but then trying it each way, it eventually started doing this again. This "Full Keyboard Access" setting had caused some issues in my CAD program as well, but I got that straight, I think.

Dave, I don't have a shortcut setting for Geo Location. I don't know if that is possible. I did make a setting for Model Info, but that didn't help.

I think I will try repair permissions...per previous posts.

And why didn't I think to search for this issue? Doh! Looks like it has been around a bit before it started happening to me.

Hi Peter, i have had a similar problem...

Even after repairing permissions.

If the Geolocation window pops up,I now habitually draw a rectangle, then undo, and for some reason this makes the spacebar select shortcut available again.

Just kind of got use to it happening maybe about 30% of the time. I just can't see any pattern in this.

Yes: Update. I repaired permissions, but I find the behavior is intermittent. Does not always happen. It goes away for good periods. Could it be plugins?
