The only way is to make 3dtext with each letter on a separate line.
Alternatively use my '2dText Tool' - enter the text as follows T\nE\nX\nT with the '\n' to show the 'newlines'; it also gives you more control over font/size/style/color etc and you can edit what it says or any other properties later on [unlike vanilla 3dtext]! You can also rotate the piece of text anyway you'd like if you set it to snap to any surface [and/or unglue it]...
