How to "make group" for lines?

Hi
Is there any way to "make group" a line?(just 1 straight line)
1.there is a way by fredos on surface tool and 2nd dividing and making group(I dont know why doesnt it work some times ) , right?
any other way? -
Use the shortcut key - "g" to make component and "ctrl-g" for a group. That is how I get around that,

Sketchup will make a group of a single object like a line, if the appropriate command is run from the menu - Edit > Make Group - rather than the similar context-menu item [which requires two or more entities to make a group].
A shortcut is invaluable - so I recommend that you make a shortcut to the more flexible menu item, rather than the limited context-menu item - and double-check that you have made the shortcut to the correct item ! -

A other (more laboruse) workaround is:
Make a group of 2 lines ,than dubble click it to edit the group .
Cut the line you dont won't in te group , exit the edit mode and paste in place the cut lineBep

It's not only a single line entity but a single image entity (for example) too of which you cannot make a group from the context menu. What Bep means that you can always add some temporary geometry (easiest is to add a single line), select both, make a group and then just delete that excess geometry).
Sometimes simply making some simple entity like a line into a group is not enough for victory. You cannot scale an (on-axis) single line either but you cannot even scale it if you make a group either (unless you add some other geometry).
Now of course you may ask why I want to scale a line - the answer is simple: why not?
