      Hello!
Would anyone be kind enough to give me advise on how to creat a seat pan and pack for a chair model?

You can find the model in the 3D Warehouse by searching: EMU Vera Chair.

The Seat Pan has a straight back bar that angles up to the front which then changes to a curved shape... back is curved in 2 directions...

BTW, the chair model I have thus far is by no means a great job... just trying to learn!

ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

I've tried making a "Create from Scratch" rectangle and Smoove-ing it, but no luck.

      THANKS!

Actually, the example you show in the warehouse is from the EMU ALA set, according to the EMU website. The seat and back are a fine steel mesh. I would suggest experimenting with one of these tools: Soap Skin and Bubble, TIG's Extrude Edges suite, and Fredo6's Curviloft. Each is unique in its approach. TIG's suite is actually 8(?) tools. The tube frame can be developed using TIGs Tube Along Path, or Didier Bur's Lines2Tubes.

I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.

yea, I know it's a fine mesh, but I'm not even going to TRY that... just need a solid surface.
I've DL'd TIGs Extrude tools, but am having an impossible time getting them unzipped... GHEESH.

            What's up? 😕
The zipped set should just extract into a temporary folder [say on your Desktop] and then you move the entire contents of that temporary folder into the Plugins folder - there should be 13 .rb files to move over, AND make sure the other files in the TIGtools subfolder in the zip-file remain in their TIGtools subfolder that you put inside Plugins too...

Tip: check that you have proper permissions [access rights] to add files to the Plugins folder...
