CatchUp Edition 4

That linked PDF has not got any 'Save' option toolbars either, or at least not in Acrobat Reader X embedded in FireFox 6.
I use the FireFox Add-on 'DownloadThemAll', which let's you download things like PDFs and images that are otherwise not accessible in the browser window...
You can always use File...SaveAs... menu option too and change to AllFileTypes and edit the suffix to .PDF - it then downloads OK too. -
PDF X-Change Viewer integrates with FF and is much light than that Adobe beast
-
This should work...
Close FireFox and open 'Adobe Reader X'.
From the edit menu open up 'Preferences'.
Click on the "Internet" settings and uncheck the box "Display in Read Mode by default".
As a precaution, go to the "Document" settings and make sure that the box "Allow documents to hide the menubar, toolbars, and window-controls" is also unchecked.
Click OK and close Adobe Reader X.
Just to make sure, open Adobe Reader X and close it again.
Now the print, save buttons etc... should be visible in Adobe Reader X, inside the browser next time you run FireFox.
BUT it is flaky! -
Thanks guys,
Another great issue.
Two things:
-
I find when I get to the lumenRT ad in the page turner edition, clicking on the page turner arrow takes me to the Lumen site, doesn't turn the page. Arrow key works OK.
-
In the survey you don't say what period you are proposing for the donation amounts.

Hello everybody
The first thing: Thank you very much!. Excellent job!The second: I have problems when I followed the niche tutorial. When I tried to use Extrude Edges by Rails in SU8, it allow me to select the profile, rails, etc. but nothing happens. I changed to SU7 and the extruded surface came up immediately. This is my second Issue with SU8…
Your help please - I've split the thread off into EEbyRails... TIG http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=350962#p350962 -
Can you post this issue in the plugins thread? I can't see the problem unless you failed to select th melding profile?
-
hey!
I'm searching for the thread (I think it was a tutorial or in the gallery section) showing the development of the scene used to presentate the "useful app sketcher" in the pdf
thanks
-
There isn't a thread just for Sketcher. There's a thread on the 'ongoing useful mac apps' in the Corner Bar forum that has discussions on it.
-
ah thanks for reply but well I meant the asian house thats in that picture used to show the features of sketcher
this certain house was build in sketchup afaik ... and it's awesome
-
no idea who made this asian-ish scene?

It's one in a series of epic models called Eye Candy by Silver Shadow
http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=10549&hilit=Candy
I'd advise you read every page because you might find a link to the model
-
thank you soo much ... have been searching this for a long time
-
Don't thank me. It's an inspirational thread that the whole SU Community benefits from.

Is there any place where I just can download the issues 2-4? Because that interactive pdf stuff doesn´t really work in my browser - always crashing...
really interested,
all the best,

Can't you disable the PDF add-on for your browser so that it downloads instead of opening?
What browser and PDF viewer are you using?
-
Thx for the fast answer Obrian,
I use firefox 6.0.1, and no addon fpr pdf. It seems, that klicking a pdf leads to starting a pdf reader inside a browser tab that came with my installation of Acrobat 8.
-
Upgrade to Acrobat 10 if you can. Or use PDF-XChange Viewer.
Or under the Options menu in Firefox select the Applications tab and search for PDF. You can choose what will happen when you click a PDF file online.

This is also what I do; never allow FF to embed pdf documents. Maybe I am just old school but there is something for internet browsing (html) and there is something paper based and I like it to have it on my desktop and open it as I wish and not as a stoned browser programmer dreamt about...
-
Thank you guys,
i´ll do like gaieus said and kill the pdf in browser shit, because i dont like it too much.
I also want to download such files to my desktop...cheers, 3rdEye
