On the subject of police cars. Can someone tell me why in movies all the USA police cars arrive at the 'scene' at full speed and skid / turn to a halt, often coming close to crashing into each other πŸ˜’

The same reason they can find a rogue hair at a crime scene and have forensics do a DNA test and database scan in less than a minute, apparently makes for good TV.

Then again MI5 can search CCTV footage and do a face recognition scan and find potential terrorists in the same time.

that's not just the movies Mike... that's real life. and it's because in America we love cars... and passing up any chance to lay down rubber is a crime in and of itself.

              True.

And we like to get airborne.

As far as I know (at least in Italy) those cars were given for free (the upkeep as well) only for sanitary emergencies like, for example, the fast transport of blood or plasma.
