This one has been baffling me all day and I have no clue how to do it - how do you merge say, a 2d profile of a formula one racing track onto a terrain? I have the 2d layout that I want to mould to the terrain, but when I do it manually it doesn't work. Is there a plugin which can do it?

The built-in Sandbox tools [activated from Window > Preferences > Extensions, then View > Toolbars > Sandbox] has several tools.
'Drape' makes the outline of the track etc onto the surface [you then need to make adjustments for levels etc]...
'Stamp' takes the shape and 'stamps it onto the surface - making cuttings or embankments as required to a pre-entered slope 'offset' [you will need to do this is pieces for different 'levels' of track]...

Cheers, the drape tool was exactly what I needed. Never used those tools before, only smoove and make terrain.
