JohnThanks John.
I probably won't render for at least 2 reasons. One, I don't have a renderer. (can't afford it) Two, most of the panels are just lines and it seems that some renderers don't see them and end up making the surface smooth. Three, I'm not familiar enough with the current renderers to do so in a timely manner. It would probably take me a week to get a decent render. Eventually I'll download the trial version of one of them and learn. Which is another problem. Which one?
Now if someone else wants to try, I'll be glad to make the model available.

Actually really like the viewport render right now...perhaps just a photoshop airbrush pass for enhancement and keep the nice clean technical lines?
I'll be watching this project, very nice.

if you export to your render engine and match the angle with the viewport you can achieve a nice black line overlay with subtle render underneath: http://m.cmcdn.net/13521645/940x536.jpeg

Liam, could you explain a little more? It sounds interesting, but I am not sure what is meant by "viewport" or the process you described or Adam what is meant by photoshop airbrush pass.
Love the example from the link!

Thanks Modelhead. I must say I was VERY surprised at just how authentic the plain SketchUp animation output looked.
Thanks Mirian. Great tutorial. Bookmarked.
