I think this guy is unbelievably skilled... BUT if he'd discovered Sketchup sooner he could have saved himself a lot of time and effort πŸ˜‰

Agreed...and SU models don't attract dust either. πŸ˜‰
Nice to see there's still a use for Letraset. I threw the remains of my collection away years ago.

Very nice work. I don't have the patiences or the eyes for that fine work anymore so I envy him some.

I've been participating on a couple of N-Scale rail modelers fora. I have suggested SketchUp a couple of times for various phases of modeling including creating card stock buildings. I made an example for them using a building I got from the 3D Warehouse.

They seem strangely resistant to the idea, though.

That's not entirely true... But admitting I know what they are would result in strange looks from you all, seeing I'm only 34 πŸ˜‰

I'd like also to say Ciao to all my fellow BaseCampers (talking to you Dave πŸ˜‰ )

Thanks for posting TIG. I enjoyed reading about that guy and his work. I enjoyed making arch models back when but like Dave I just don't have the eye for it any more. Discovered this when I could not focus on my 'finger prints' some years back! Now I borrow my wifes reading glasses when I need to see small text.

Maybe I need some of these?

my eyes deteriorated just looking at that. if we was doing all of that for a Museum diorama or a Wallace and Gromit movie, I think its great. . .if he does this just for a hobby.. . .he's insane. πŸ’š

Its interesting the effort and technique he used to make his Letraset lettering look distressed . When I used it, my letters came out looking that way naturally!

If I make it look easy...It is probably easy
