Slow performance

Hello guys..i am working from Greece and i have the same problem when i creating a scene with 3ds models which have many polygones.Scetch works so slowly and also i cannot render my scene. Why??
my pc details:intel core i7 CPU,ram 6GB,windows 7 -
I'm guessing you've gone through the suggestions on sketchup sage: https://sites.google.com/site/sketchupsage/faster/ ? I believe SketchUp is a 32 bit app and can't use more than 2gb memory.

i tryied all the render trials for scetch up..finally i am working with render[in]because in the duration i am working with my scene i have beside the preview of the rendered scene and i am finishing faster..but the same problem.when i have a scene of 100 and up MB stucks and tells error report.the program closes.

You could try exporting your scene to Kerkythea(free) and rendering in that. It's a studio based app so it handles large scenes with ease.
SU is now LAA enabled so if you run it on 64bit systems it avails of extra RAM.

Thanks for the heads up - I did try to work SU hard and monitor the amount of CPU and RAM consumed - I can't get SU to take more than half the 8gb I have installed even when it was struggling to manipulate a 500k edge model. Is there something I can do to improve this? I'm running Vista 64.

Theodosia, I still maintain that a studio based renderer will solve your problem.

LAA will not use as much RAM as you have on a 64 bit system just up to 4 Gb (and that seems to work for you). If LAA weren't there, it could only use 2 Gb (or with some hack, even on a 32 bit system, 3Gb but it may not be stable)
