    Hi,

I am trying to work out if this is a bug or there is some combo key that is near to another feature and I keep hitting it by mistake.

I am creating meshes for UDK in sketchup and I tend to keep lots of face detail, so tris. But every so often Sketchup will seemigly smooth a mesh removing most of the lines I have created. I usually undo this smooth action but sometimes its happened when I haven't realised and I save then have to either fix the object or export and OBJ and reimport then retexture it.

I am fed up with this now, I am wasting hours now the meshes are quite complicated.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks.

There are some bugs that cause this.

If you have a mesh or a group with a mesh selected and minimize SU, then restore it SU smooths the mesh.
It also seem to happen if you have something selected and SU becomes unresponsive for a while, (processing something, saving, autosaving) and when it returns the application seem to flicker and the mesh is smoothed.

It's a very annoying behaviour that has forced me into a habit of deselecting very often.

Cheers, so it is a known bug of sorts?

I thought I was doing something at first by accident but it just kept happening. I will keep an eye out for that and try to avoid minimizing. Maybe its worth taking off autosave as I am used to saving often anyway thanks to using in house tools. 😄
