How do I change increments to decimal

We are new to Scetchup and trying to import Auto Cad files drawen in decimal to sketchup if my cabinet is 44" tall it will come in at 44' tall. What can we do to fix this?

In the import window dialog there is an options button. Set the units of the DXF/DWG there - e.g. feet, before importing...
