Can someone help me find a solution to convert Sketchup files to a 3ds format? I know that there are softwares like Blender but I don't know what version to use. Blender doesn't allow you to convert to Collada (dae)anymore. I'm not sure if this version is free.

So you´re saying you are not sure if you´re running free or pro version of SU? 😕

Anyway, if you´re a "free" user, there are online file conversion services like http://www.babel3d.com/ (there is a 100 MB limit on the size of the files you can submit for translation).

And there is a 10 day trial version of Sycode´s 3DS file export plug-in for SketchUp 6, 7 and 8 here:
          http://www.sycode.com/products/3ds_export_su/index.htm

Some workarounds, not the latest news, but anyway - http://forums.devshed.com/game-development-141/converting-sketchup-models-to-3dst-519710.html

          Comfortably numb...
