Layout and Section Planes, again.....
-
I have created a drawing in SU that has many section planes that i toggle on and off for multiple scenes. when i make each scene i make a new section plane, activate it, hide all other geometry i don't want to show up in my scene and update the scene. i save the file in su, switch over to layout and update reference. it works on the page i am currently working on but also turns the sections off on all the other pages in the layout document. i am working in a style that i setup called "presentation - sections" that has the sections turned on and the views i want. i am sure i am missing something simple here. i am pulling my hair out! thanks.

So if styles are saved, then verify that your scenes have been updated, then the model saved. And in LayOut, use scene names to set the view, not "Last Saved SketchUp View". Also, if it's an Ortho view and you've set scale, this may have modified your scene, and sometimes modified scenes will not see a a style update if that image is cached. Play around with style & scene & (if you're Ortho) scale settings.

Okay, I have had similar issues, so what do you specifically mean by "play around with style and scene"?
Does doing that reset the cache? Or what is the achieved result?
I also found that in Ortho, When I went to a new scene, i.e. west elevation from front elevation, Layout would modify the scale, my rendering looked good, but the scale was not the same, so I would reset the scale, in this case 1/4" per ft. and dang here came the section cutlines again....?
What to do? -
Please post a LayOut file for us to look at or send it to me in a PM.
