I need a little help here with the Pipe Along path plugin. I have two pipes intersecting at an angle and what I want to do is to clean up the extra that is on the inside of the pipe. I'm trying to trim it flush with the outside surface. I've exploded the items and when I go to erase the inside parts the it erases the whole thing. Any idea on what I might be doing wrong?

Explode the three entities. Select all. Right click for dialog box then select intersect with model. Now you can go a long and erase the parts you dont want. You could also keep them in groups and then copy one to the clip board and then intersect with model erase group and lines you dont want then paste in place.

There are tons of vids on youtube that help out with the basics of sketchup.

Thanks for the help that worked. Not really sure what I was doing wrong, I was exploding them but for some reason I couldn't get it to work. The only thing I can think of was that I wasn't selecting all three of them at the same time. I would select the rectangle and the upper pipe and it would erase the face of the pipe as well.

I did watch the videos but I haven't used SU in about six months and now just getting back into it. Again thanks for the help.

with the new solid tools in SU8 the whole operation would not take more than two clicks for each intersection, with the cleaning up done by the tool itself.

Yes, and the only available "Outer shell" for the free version should also do it
