Finally tested, no longer just a theory
-
Anyone remember the theory of the bullet shot vs dropped?
The theory (read mathematical) is that gravity is a constant regardless of horizontal acceleration, so a bullet shot at a set height will hit the ground at same time as a bullet dropped from same height. Until now testing this was impossible, the Myth-busters tested it and proved the theory a fact.

I like them all, including Bear Grylls's Man vs Wild, Pawn Kings, Bizarre foods.

I LOVE them...
Had seen the first video before, but not the Thermite vs. Ice...
Wonder if thrmite and ice somehow holds a key towards a non-fosile fuel... -
ah solo you watched on xbox 360? PM me your gamertag if you're up for some Halo teabagging!

When I was in high school physics 31 years ago, the instructor set up a demonstration to prove that theory about the dropping bullet. He used an electromagnet hanging in an open doorway that was wired to a normally closed switch on the muzzle of a blow gun. You'd hang a steel can from the magnet and point the blow gun at it. As the ball bearing in the gun left the muzzle it would release the can. If you blew hard enough to get the ball to the doorway, you would hit the can every time. The instructor called it "Shooting the monkey."

Oli, I am not a gamer, my kids are, but they now have their own consoles, so the Xbox downstairs is solely for Netflix HD.

Presumably from the example "If a hunter is aiming at a monkey, and the monkey lets go of the branch at the same time as the hunter fires his shot, will the monkey be hit?"
