I cant make a select/ select all attached/ shortcut key in sk/up8 that I have used with previous versions, can someone help with this on with a plugin that will allow me to make shortcut key. thanks

A triple click on an entity with the Select tool will select all attached. Why not use that?
Or, if you need a keyboard shortcut, Draw something such as a box in the drawing window and select part of it. then you should be able to find Edit/Item/Select/All Connected.

And, you can still set a shortcut for select all connected. But you need to have a face selected when you go into the shortcut manager. If you do not have a face (or edge) selected, then the option to set a shortcut to "all connected" does not appear.
