Odd inconsistency in stacked alpha textured faces
-
Can somebody explain the effect seen (in Sketchup 8 on Windows 7, in case it matters) in this model: http://tml.pp.fi/Untitled.skp .
All six rectangles are instances of the same component, just a single face with the same semi-transparent texture (a fully opaque black cross and squiggle on a 4% opaque background) on both sides of the face. Yet depending on from which side you look at the row of rectangles it looks different.
Thanks in advance for any insight in what I am missing...

if you edit the texture via the material palette (double click the material on mac.. not sure about windows)
then change the opacity to 99% instead of 100, you'll be able to see through both sides.[not really a answer to what's happening there.. just a quick workaround]

Go to Window > Styles > (in the style browser) In model > Edit > Face style > and set the transparency rendering from fast to either medium or nicer.
This helped to display it better on my Windows system (although I also leave it on faster for modelling but for final renders, you may wish to set it to something better).
